The Melancholy of Cuba

I have a close connection to Cuba, have been there several times, and have studied in Havana for a year. With my pictures, I want to preserve my memories of my time in the city and capture a certain mood beneath the surface. The Caribbean is always associated with cheerfulness and a good mood. Of course, I’ve also experienced it, for example, when I’m out and about in shared cabs or private cars that you can simply wave at and then take lots of people. They are crammed full of shopping, and the passengers have lively conversations, with salsa playing at a decent volume. But behind this exuberance lies a melancholy that is just as much a part of Cuba. With my pictures, I want to capture this feeling of a certain seclusion, melancholy, longing, and Havana’s extraordinary light.

Passepartout

When opting for a passepartout, note that while the picture size remains unchanged, the frame size increases as follows:

S Size (18×24 cm) pictures ➝ Frame size becomes 28×35 cm
M Size (28×35 cm) pictures ➝ Frame size becomes 40×50 cm
L Size (40×50 cm) pictures ➝ Frame size becomes 56×71 cm
XL Size (56×71 cm) pictures ➝ Frame size becomes 70×90 cm
