About the image: We wanted to go to the Dalí Museum in Figueres, the birthplace of the Surrealist. But the museum was closed, and otherwise, not much was happening. The pandemic had swept the streets empty, and a mysterious silence prevailed. Even the store in the picture hadn’t opened for a long time. I immediately liked the typography in the middle. And the gray-washed color of the facade reminded me of a Roy Andersson film. It would indeed be a funny scene if Andersson and Dalí were to have a drink together at this bar. Two surrealists, one Swedish stoic, the other Spanish excitable, at L’Abriqall. Then, the sunlight fell at a 90-degree angle to the building from the side, as you can see from the shadows. This light gives the picture an unreal appearance—a beautiful coincidence.
