About Cecil Arp: Cecil Arp (*1972) was born into a family of artists. His mother is a goldsmith, and his father is a photographer and interior designer. He received his first camera from his father at the age of 15. By then, he was already an enthusiastic skateboarder and discovered his passion for architecture and portrait photography on his skate trips through Europe. After leaving school in 1991, it took him a while to devote himself entirely to photography in 1995. After his training, he assisted numerous photographers, such as Chon Choi, who was his mentor until he became self-employed. In 2001, Cecil Arp began to establish himself as a full-time commercial photographer, which he still does today. Commercial photography has allowed him to continue his passion for portrait and street photography on numerous trips worldwide, creating multiple exhibitions and zines. Since April 2023, Cecil Arp has also been working as a lecturer in photography at the Design Factory International in Hamburg.
