Annika Weertz

About Annika Weertz: Annika Weertz (*1991) works as a freelance photographer in Hanover.
After studying history, journalism and technical editing, her curiosity for images led her to photography. As an autodidact, she tells universal stories through private details in documentary essays, with the portrait taking centre stage. Photography is the tool that guides her through the complexities of life, emotions and relationships. An essential part of her work is her own vulnerability and the attempt not to explain the world, but to make it tangible.

Her assignments reach from portrait work for magazines, cultural institutions and artists to composed still lifes of design objects and selected advertising work. She is a member of Female Photo Club, Fotobus Society & VG Bild-Kunst.

Annika also films occasionally and in her free time, she enjoys listening to music and watching auteur and horror cinema.
